Founded by the Sisters of Lorettoin 1915 as a Catholic women's college, the first male students weren't admitteduntil 1962. The school now operates as an independent and non-denominationaluniversity and offers majors in subjects like International Relations,Psychology and Computer Science, to name a few. The main campus is located inSt. Louis, Missouri, but the university has more than a hundred campuses aroundthe world. Because of the proliferation of international campuses, students atWebster have the opportunity to take advantage of several study abroad programsin places like Thailand, Vienna and the Netherlands. Part buffalo, part cheetahand part Saint Bernard, the school mascot is called the Gorlok. The Gorlokathletic teams are part of the NCAA Division III and the St. LouisIntercollegiate Athletic Conference.
