University of Nevada at Las Vegas

The University of Nevada at Las Vegas may just be the best balance of workand play. Its location is just one and a half miles east of the renowned LasVegas Strip, but its academic achievements still speak for themselves. UNLV ishome to the only dental school (UNLV School of Dental Medicine) and the onlylaw school (William S. Boyd School of Law) in the state of Nevada. It has beendeemed a research-intensive university due to its high volume of in-depthstudies.  

Even with these acclaims, UNLV remains an institution concerned aboutthe greater good of the community. Each year, UNLV staff, athletes,cheerleaders and band members visit local elementary schools to promoteinterest in reading and higher education. UNLV also ranks as the number 12 mostpopular national university in the nation, which was calculated by thepercentage of UNLV-accepted applicants who chose to enroll the following fall.  

Since Las Vegas is the 31st most populous city in the UnitedStates and one of the top tourist destinations in the world, students may startto feel a little cramped for space.
