Do I need a lock when I rent a storage unit?

You will need a disc lock to secure your storage space. You can bring your own or purchase one at our property. You units will need to be locked upon your move-in date.

Do I need a reservation to rent a storage unit?

You don't need a reservation to rent a storage space at Arcos Self Storage. However, a reservation does ensure that you'll be able to secure the exact space you need. If you spot a deal or low price for a certain space, you will need to reserve that space at that time to lock in that price. Otherwise, you can just complete the rental online, or give us a call and we will rent the unit over the phone whenever you're ready.

What does "On-Site" manager mean?

An “on-site” manager is an Arco’s Self Storage employee who lives in a residence at the location.

Can anyone enter the facility or do you have controlled gate access?

Each Arco’s Self Storage location has controlled gate access with a key-pad entry system so only current tenants can enter the facility. Each tenant picks their own access code (PIN).

What security measures are in place at your facility?

Arco’s Self Storage facilities offer digital surveillance cameras, gated access, and on-site managers.

What is Temperature-Controlled storage?

Temperature-controlled self storage is a special type of storage designed for heat-sensitive items. These self-storage units maintain a temperature between 50 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Please note that the units do not modify or maintain humidity; they merely control the temperature.

Can I rent a unit mid-month?

Yes. You can rent a unit anytime at Arco’s Self Storage. Arco’s Self Storage works on an anniversary date, So whatever date you move in will be the date your rent is due each month

Can I change to a different size unit if I need more or less space?

Yes, you can transfer to a larger or a smaller sized unit anytime. There are no transfer fees.

Do you offer RV & Boat storage?

Yes. Most Arco’s Self Storage facilities have outside storage to accommodate all recreational vehicles. If you are looking for added protection from the elements, Arco’s Self Storage offers both covered and enclosed self-storage units for your boat or RV. Please check the specific facility you are interested in.

What are the office hours?

Arco’s Self Storage office hours are 9:30 am - 6pm Monday - Friday and 8:30 am to 5 pm on Saturdays. Our Stockton location is open on Sundays from 8:30 am to 5 pm. Please check the specific facility you are interested in as office hours do vary. However, there is always someone to answer your call 7 days a week during normal business hours.

What are the gate hours?

Arco’s Self Storage gate hours are 6 am - 9 pm 7 days a week 365 days a year. In our San Bruno location the gate hours are 6 am to 8 pm 7 days a week 365 days a year

How do I pay for my storage unit

Online payments can be made through the Arco's Self Storage online payment portal on our website, you can download our free APP, we accept credit/debit card payments over the phone, we can set up a hassle free automatic credit card payment to avoid late fees, you can mail a check or money order or you can visit your store location.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept the following payment methods at Arco’s Self Storage: Cash, Checks, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, Diners, Google Pay, and Apple Pay.

Can I pay month-to-month?

Yes. All of our units are offered on a month to month lease

Do you offer any specials or discounts?

Yes. Many of Arco’s Self Storage facilities offer specials and discounts throughout the year for new tenants. Contact the facility you’re interested in to ask about current specials and promotions.

What type of documentation do I need to rent a unit?

All that is required to rent a unit is a valid driver’s license or government-issued picture ID.

What type of documentation do I need to store a vehicle, boat, or RV?

All that is required to rent a unit is a valid driver’s license or government-issued picture ID. In addition, you will need a copy of the current registration and proof of insurance in your name.

Do I need storage protection or insurance for my belongings in storage?

Yes. Our rental agreement requires all tenants to have some type of storage protection. Arco’s Self Storage offers a low cost, deductible free storage protection that can be added to your monthly rent.

What is your cancellation policy, and how do I end my rental agreement?

We require a 7 day notice of intent to vacate your unit.

What happens if I miss a payment?

The best way to not miss a payment and have any late fees added is to set up autopay to a credit/debit card. However if a payment due date is missed, you will receive messages and a phone call from the manager of your location.

What do I need to do when I vacate my unit?

You can move out of your unit at any time. After you have removed all of your items from your space, broom swept your unit, please visit the office of your location to sign a vacate form which will terminate your lease and stop any recurring payments that you have set up.

Q: What items am I not allowed to store in my unit?

There are a number of items you cannot store at Arcos Self Storage. You cannot store combustible materials because of the threat of them catching fire. These items include fireworks, fuel tanks, fertilizer, paint thinner, and so on. If it seems like it'll easily catch fire, avoid storing it. You also cannot store firearms. You cannot store living animals or plants. Do not treat a storage space as a replacement for a proper pet sitter. Not only are storage spaces not built for people or animals to live in them, but the food you leave out for your pets could also attract pests. Similarly, plant soil could attract pests as well. You cannot store food of any type including, but not limited to, canned foods, perishable foods, dry foods, or pet food for similar reasons. Food will attract pests and will cause an infestation in your storage space and spread to others. Lastly, you cannot store illegal items such as prohibited weapons, illicit drugs, drug paraphernalia, and stolen items. If it's not legal to house it elsewhere, you cannot store it here.

Q: What is the difference between indoor storage and drive up storage?

We offer both indoor and drive up storage at Arcos Self Storage, and each comes with different advantages depending on how you plan to use them. The term indoor storage describes storage spaces that are found inside a building. These storage spaces provide more protection against the elements than drive up spaces because they're fully covered inside of a structure. Drive-up storage spaces are located along the exterior of the building so you can literally drive right up to them. These spaces allow you to easily unload and load your vehicle, making it a breeze to put stuff in, or take stuff out of your storage space. These are convenient spaces if you know you're going to store belongings that would be difficult to carry in and out of a building, especially when those buildings have multiple floors.
