Patrick AFBis an Air Force Base on the East coast of central Florida, close to CocoaBeach, and they are dedicated to launching missiles. There are about 13,099military, family members, civilian employees and contractors on the base. Thehome unit is the 45th Space Wing. In addition to the operations of PatrickAFB, the 45th is in charge of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station andthe Eastern Range. They're also in charge of all launches of unmanned rocketsat Cape Canaveral, including satellites and payloads for NAZA and EuropeanSpace Agency. They also serve as the DoD's East Coast Space Port. The 920thRescue Wing is headquartered there and is the only rescue wing in the Air ForceReserve. They are a full participant in the Air and Space Expeditionary and arealways ready for deployment worldwide.
