Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater

Coast GuardAir Station Clearwater is the country's largest and busiest air station in theCoast Guard, particularly because of their drug interaction missions, whichhave gained them decorations and notoriety in the past few years. Theinstallation is located at the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airportand is home to nearly 600 USCG aviation and support personnel. Clearwater hasbeen part of multiple high profile missions such as the Cuban boat lift,Operation Desert Storm, and the response to the Space Shuttle Challenger. Theyare also known for their responses to devastating hurricanes and tsunamis andtheir efforts for War on Drugs in the Caribbean and the Gulf Coast. Clearwateralso oversees the previous Naval Reserve Center St. Petersburg/Clearwater.
