Long Beach, CA RV and Boat Storage
Long Beach is a place where you can use your RV or boat year round. The weather is beautiful, and there’s always a chance that it will be 80 degrees in the middle of December. Putting your RV or boat in storage seems kind of unnecessary, but once we are done telling you some facts, it may seem like a good idea after all. Plus, it’s not like you’re always getting to hit the beach or the campgrounds. As fun as some toys are, they should be put away when they’re not being used.
Keep Calm and Store
Golden Shore RV Resort is one of the many beautiful RV parks in Long Beach. This park is right on the coast and is in close proximity to the Queen Mary and Aquarium of the Pacific. There are plenty of things to do in and around the park, including biking on the beach and barbecuing. Wouldn’t it be awesome if we could do that all day? But in order to enjoy these activities, you have to make sure you have all the things necessary to do so. RV trips are a lot of fun, but packing for one of those trips requires a vacation of its own. By the time you’re done gathering your firewood, bikes, clothes, fishing equipment, hygiene products, etc., chances are that you’ll be so tired you won’t even want to go anymore. But don’t stress, we have a one-word solution for you: storage.
Storco Self Storage is a facility that’s only 5.2 miles away from Golden Shore RV Resort and offers some great amenities. Pricing is generally one of the biggest concerns for most people, so let’s start with that. Storco offers discounts for military members, senior citizens, students, the police and fire departments, and for long-term storage. They offer discounts for three and six month prepayments, which is great if you’re looking to store your RV for the winter. They also have tenant insurance available, which makes your life easier because you won’t have to scramble to find a way to insure the contents of your unit. It’s a great facility that’s close to the park and is likely to meet all of your storage needs.
Keeping Your RV Safe
Long Beach isn’t exactly the safest area for your RV. Don’t get us wrong, it’s not super dangerous or anything and it’s a great place to live, but it does have a high annual property crime of 12,700 crimes. You can’t exactly use a giant tablecloth to hide the massive RV sitting in front of your house, so you should probably put it in storage. Putting your RV or boat in storage will protect it from damage from the weather and animals, being hit or scratched by a car, being stolen, or being damaged by kids playing in the streets. Don’t be the guy/girl in the neighborhood that’s always yelling at kids to get away from his/her RV. Keeping your RV indoors will also protect it from damage from the high content of salt in the ocean’s air. Being so close to the ocean has a lot of perks, but nothing is perfect.
Some security measures that storage facilities take to ensure the safety of your vehicles include: 24-hour video surveillance, gated and well lit grounds, having on-site managers, security guards, and individually alarmed units. Long Beach has 44 storage facilities, so you’re bound to find one that meets your standard of security.
Access and Climate Control
Good vacations generally don’t involve too much punctuality. If you don’t want to be pressed for time when you’re supposed to be relaxing, store your RV or boat in a facility that allows for 24-hour access. If you’re planning a fishing trip and need to get your boat to the lake before dawn, you don’t want to have to cancel because you can’t get to your storage unit before 8AM.
Speaking of fishing, you should probably keep your fishing equipment with your boat. If you’re keeping things like that in your unit, be sure to get a climate controlled unit so you’re not worried about things being damaged by the heat. California is known for its dry heat, but coastal cities definitely experience some humidity. Even if there’s no moisture, temperatures get so high during the summer that things made out of metal, wood, or plastic can easily be affected.
